IMPORTANT INFORMATION

If you are participating in the provincial track this week please pick up the package in the office.  All information on the track meet can be found on TrackieReg

All information for the grade 9 trip can be found under the Parent/Student tab at the top of the website.  It is then under Grade 9 trip. The students return on Wednesday night approximately 10:00pm.  The students will contact their parents with a time if there is a change in the schedule.

The HRSB has just released the calendar for the 2016-17 year.  The full calendar can be viewed under the home tab at the top of this page. The first day of school for students is September 8, 2016.

LATE REGISTRATION FOR 2016-17 YEAR WILL TAKE PLACE ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2016 FROM 9AM-3PM. There will be school tours for new students that day from 9am-12pm.

As in other years there will not be Powerschool passwords given out during the last week of August and first week of September.  Please make sure you have a working Powerschool password prior to leaving school in June. If you are not here to receive your report card on June 29, 2016 please send in a stamped (2stamps) self addressed envelope for it to be sent home.  Report cards can also be viewed on PowerSchool in the parent portal under Academic Achievement.

Upcoming Events:

Grade 9 Trip – May 27 to June 1, 2016 – students are expected to attend classes the morning of May 27.  If they are not in attendance and not excused they will be marked unexcused.  Students that are not attending the grade 9 trip are expected to be in class.  Regular classes will be held for students that are not attending the trip.

June 28, 2016 PD Day – No classes for students

Last day of classes June 29, 2016.  If you are unable to attend this day to pick up the report card please send a self-addressed stamped envelope (2 stamps) if you would like the report card sent home. Report cards can also be viewed in Powerschool in the parent portal under academic achievement.  You can click on the marks to see the comments.

END OF YEAR EVENTS

Grade 9 final exams will be held on June 20th for Language arts and June 21st for Mathematics.

On June 23rd there will be a barbecue lunch for our grade 9 students and their teachers.

As part of our year end celebration we will be handing out awards at a full assembly on June 27th. This assembly will be for participation, achievement and involvement awards. There is no graduation ceremony for grade 9 students.

Closing day, June 29th year end awards will be presented to students. These awards  will include Athlete of the Year, Student of the Year, Principal Awards, and HRM Citizen Award.

Thursday, June 9th, Spring Concert 7:00pm – 8:30pm
Friday, June 10th, repeat Concert for School 9:00am. (uniform not required).
There are still a few band fees overdue. Please make arrangements with Mr. Beale tbeale@hrsb.ca for payment.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registrations are done by appointment only.  Please call the school 902-832-8952 ext 1090 and speak with Mr. Young to arrange an appointment time. Please make sure to bring proper identification with you to register.  We require proof of address, birth certificate or passport, and immunization records.

ADDRESS CHANGES

If you have moved or changed your phone number or email address please contact the office immediately to have your address changed.  Your student is assigned a bus based on this information so the address must be accurate or your student will be assigned to an incorrect bus route.
